Clinical Trials Bill Passes AK Legislature!

If you or a loved one has cancer, you want the very best treatment.
Sometimes, the best treatment means being on a cancer clinical trial, a research study.

Treatment on a clinical trial may give you the best odds in beating the cancer.
Did you know that, in Alaska, your health insurance plan can refuse to cover your routine medical costs while you are participating in a clinical trial, even if the trial medication is provided free?

The cancer doctors in Alaska, along with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, are asking the Alaska Legislature to pass a bill that will require health insurance plans to cover routine medical costs for those participating in cancer clinical trials.

This bill will help you or a loved one affected by cancer to receive the best possible treatment available. Increased participation in cancer clinical trials leads to advances in research that benefit everyone!

Thank you for taking action!  This bill passed the Alaska Legislature in April.  We are now waiting for Governor Parnell to sign this bill into law.
