Hawaii Pacific Legislative Priorities 2009

  • Protect and strongly advocate against any legislative attempts to reduce MSA contributions or efforts to remove monies from the Hawaii Tobacco Trust Account.
  • Protect state funding for BCCCP screening at the present level.
  • Support legislative efforts in Guam to increase the existing cigarette tax by $1.00 per pack.
  • Support legislation that may be introduced by other interest/organizations containing an association to cancer prevention and treatment that can be aligned with ACS’s overall goals.
  • Ensure that access to health care continues to be available for indigent and other disparate population identified as high risk for cancer.
