The Challenge

The 2006 U.S. Surgeon General's Report, The Health Consequences of Involuntary Exposure to Tobacco Smoke, confirmed there is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke. Each year in the United States, secondhand smoke causes 46,000 deaths from heart disease and 3,400 lung cancer deaths in otherwise healthy nonsmokers.
